Happy Anniversary to Us!

anniversary

We’re proud to say that Red Leaf is celebrating our first year of business this week, and our Red Leaf Rocks Concert on Saturday, April 5th will not only showcase some of our talented students, but…well, what’s an anniversary without CAKE?

Just last Spring Geno and Dan were busy putting up new walls, buying furniture, and opening the school.  Our student base has grown from 20 to about 70, with new enrollees every week.  A great first year!

Our Feet of the Week Duo, Jon and Alex, brought over some anniversary cupcakes for us.  They were a hit.  Nothing makes a grown musician display weakness like a tasty cupcake.  Thanks, guys!

Come celebrate with us Saturday, April 5th, 2008!

The event will take place at Spider House/United States Art Authority located just north of the UT campus at 2908 Fruth St.  As part of the celebration, several Red Leaf students will perform, and there will a reception following the performacnces.

Well hey. We made it.

Red Leaf School of Music

Allow us to introduce ourselves. We’re Red Leaf School of Music, based in Austin, Texas. We’ve been open for about 9 months now and our school is growing by leaps and bounds thanks to all the great students who have come our way.

We have a great group of teachers at Red Leaf, who we’ll introduce you to in forthcoming posts, and who will be posting some of their thoughts and musical musings themselves.

Coming up first is a post from Daniel Barrett, one of Red Leaf’s two founders along with Geno Stroia. They’re cool, promise.

In the meantime, take a minute to check out our Red Leaf Myspace site (yes, it is indeed red), and see some of our students and teachers in action in our Flickr pool. Good times, indeed!
